Some of you might say yaaaaas to this news.

Yas Café has opened its doors offering a wider range of food choices for the local hospital community.

Conveniently located in the new P21 car park, staff and commuters can now easily grab a coffee or a bite to eat as they enter or while taking lunch breaks at the rear of the hospital.

Operating since early 2020, the local cafe has been a local fixture that many of us have become familiar with, from their delicious pastries to gozleme and arguably – one of the best coffees around Westmead.

Yas Café will open a new pop-up kiosk within the multi-storey car park while the original cart will remain open on Redbank Road.

Café owners Saeed and Nahid said they were thrilled to be opening in the new facilities, which will provide an expanded menu to what is currently on offer.

“Having the chance to share our food and serve it at the hospital brings us joy.” Saeed said.

He added it was his love of food that inspired him to open the coffee cart during the COVID pandemic.

“Food has always been a passion of mine. It's more than just flavours; it's about bringing comfort and people together."

The café will operate from 6am, Monday to Friday and weekends from 8am, offering healthy food made daily with fresh produce.

"What we aim to achieve is to provide staff, patients, and their families with a broader range of choices,” said Nahid.

Before starting the redevelopment, staff and patients provided feedback during consultation, expressing the need for additional food options at the local hospital.

The redevelopment is delivering more retail offering, including the new Mint Fresh IGA scheduled to open in the revitalised ‘KidsPark’ forecourt this spring.
