Please note that these are subject to change due to weather and/or operational impacts. 
Early works are continuing for The Children's Hospital at Westmead Stage 2 Redevelopment, which includes the new Paediatric Services Building, a new multi-storey car park, refurbishment of some existing areas and an improved main entry forecourt. This work includes:
  • Site preparation work continuing for the new Paediatric Services Building and multi-storey car park
  • Completion of demolition of the existing retaining wall near Kids Research Lane
  • A section of Redbank Road is being realigned and widened to create access into the new multi-storey car park and improve traffic flows into the Precinct
  • Establishment of stockpile site near Mons Road
We know that many of you are interested in how we have managing pedestrian and traffic safety during the realignment works on Redbank Road. These measures include:
  • removing shade cloth and geofabric to create better site lines
  • installing additional signage and lighting
  • installing temporary speed hump before the pedestrian crossing adjacent to the bridge
  • traffic controllers in place to ensure motorist adhere to 20km/h speed limit.

Pedestrian and traffic changes
As always, please follow direction of signage and site staff for your safety. There may be some changes to traffic conditions while work is taking place including intermittent stoppages and lane closures.

Our standard construction hours are between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.
 
How we will manage works
This work will occur during standard construction hours (Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, Saturdays 8am to 1pm). We will provide further notification of any work that is required to take place outside of these hours.

For your safety, please stay on marked paths, and follow the signs or any directions from site staff during construction. 
Noise, dust and vibration will be closely monitored. This includes mitigation measures such as:
  • Programming noisy works to occur during the day
  • Noise and vibration monitors
  • Water trucks to manage dust
