Early works are continuing for The Children's Hospital at Westmead Stage 2 Redevelopment, which includes the new Paediatric Services Building, a new multi-storey car park, refurbishment of some existing areas and an improved main entry forecourt. This work includes:
  • Site preparation work continuing for the new Paediatric Services Building and multi-storey car park
  • Building the foundation of the new Paediatric Services Building
  • A section of Redbank Road is being realigned and widened to create access into the new multi-storey car park and improve traffic flows into the Precinct
  • Construction on the new bike cage within the Kids Research undercroft
  • Refurbishment of the turning circle drop off zone at the front of the hospital
Pedestrian and traffic changes
As always, please follow direction of signage and site staff for your safety. There may be some changes to traffic conditions while work is taking place including intermittent stoppages and lane closures.

Our standard construction hours are between 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.

From late August until September 2022, you will notice changes to how to enter and exit the hospital from the front entrance as work on the drop off area nears completion. Access will be maintained at all times. Please follow wayfinding signage and allow for extra time to enter and exit

How we will manage works
This work will occur during standard construction hours (Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, Saturdays 8am to 5pm). We will provide further notification of any work that is required to take place outside of these hours.

For your safety, please stay on marked paths, and follow the signs or any directions from site staff during construction.
Noise, dust and vibration will be closely monitored. This includes mitigation measures such as:
  • Programming noisy works to occur during the day
  • Noise and vibration monitors
  • Water trucks to manage dust
