Children's Emergency has moved. Please follow the signs for entry via Hawkesbury Road, Westmead. Visit the hospital website for a map and more information.

Stage 1 of the hosptial redevelopment was opened in 2020 and includes a new children's Emergency Department and other services located in Block K at Westmead.

The building also includes adult services as part of a major expansion for Westmead Hospital.

The children’s departments are on the street level (level 2) and provide fast-tracked service to ensure patients are treated quickly and safely in an environment that has been built for the future.

Paediatric services within the new building include:
  • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Children’s Short Stay Unit (CSSU)
  • Additional Medical Imaging and pharmacy departments (to service the ED and Children's Short Stay Unit)

Block K is part of the $1 billion-plus Westmead Redevelopment project which will provide Western Sydney with high-quality healthcare, research and educational facilities for decades to come.
